Howells Journal - Nov 1933 Mrs Anna Karel buried Saturday Passed Away at Daughter's Home at Clarkson and Buried Here Funeral services for Mrs Anna Karel, who died on Thurday of last week at Clarkson at the home of her daughter, Mrs Frank Vidlak, were held last Saturday Morning. A brief services at the Vidlak home was followed by requiem mass at SS. Cyrill and Methodius church at Clarkson after which the remains were brought to Howells and laid to rest at St. John's Nep. cemetery in the Molacek family plot by the side of her parents, Mr and Mrs Joseph R. Molacek, who passed away with in the past year. Rev Chas z. Petlach officiated at the holy rites at Clarkson, and the burial services were conducted by Rev. J. Drbal of St. John's Church of this place. Her brothers, Frank, Joseph, Rudolph, William, James and Adolf, acted at pall-bearers, and the lavish tribute of flowers were carried by Misses Wilma Drahota, Irma Karnik, Barbara Dudyeha, Palma, Helen, Wilma and Sylvia Molacek, and Rudolph Molacek Jr. Jos Molacek jr, Frank Vidlar Jr., JoAnn Vidlar and Gwendolyn and Naoma Faltys. Mrs Karel's entire life was spent in this county in which she was born on a farm in the Heun neighborhood January 8, 1883. In 1898 she was married to Mr. Amos Karel and for twelve years resided on a farm in Stanton County. For sixteen years, from 1910 to 1926, she made her home in Howells and for the past seven years has shared the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vidlak, where she passed away after a serious illness of several weeks. The deceased was a lady held in high regard, as was testified by the large attendance at the memorial rites that marked the closing chapter of her life. Her death has brought deep sorrow to her son Joseph Karel of Riverdale and her three daughters, Mr Frank Vidlak and Mrs Aldon Faltys of Clarkson and Miss Anna Karel of Weston. Also by five grandchildren, seven brothers and three sisters: the brothers are Emil, Joseph, Adolph, and James of Clarkson, Frank living in Stanton County, and will and Rudolph of Howells, and the sisters who mourn her passing are Mrs J.A. Drahota of this place, at presents in St Joseph's Hospital at Omaha, and Mrs James Dudycha and Mrs Jos J. Karnik of Clarkson. During the years of her lifetime she formed many close friends and these in countless number, realizing their great loss, deeply sympathize with the bereaved.
