Jerome J. Koudela, 76, of El Campo, died Monday, June 16, 2003. He was born Jan. 20, 1927 in El Campo to Joseph and Julia Reck Koudela. Mr. Koudela was a self-employed farmer and a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the Knight’s of Columbus and the KJT. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Staff Koudela of El Campo; daughters, Julia Wesselman and husband Bob of Needville, Helen Srubar and husband Lloyd of El Campo, Sandra Murphey and husband, Jerry of El Campo, Kathryn Morrison and husband Carl of El Campo and Donna LeCompte and husband Michael of Corpus Christi; sons, Eugene Koudela and wife Shiela of El Campo, Jerome Koudela Jr. and wife Elaine of El Campo, David Koudela and wife Christine of Wharton and Chris Koudela and wife Monica of El Campo; sisters, Edith Labay of Wharton and Lorena Taylor of Boling; brothers, J.C. Koudela of El Campo and Raymond Koudela of El Campo; grandchildren, Christie Koudela, Laura Prihoda, Angela Koudela, Keith Koudela, Katrina Koudela, Zachary Koudela, Blythe Koudela, Diana Wesselman, Renee Norton, Kimberly Wesselman, Jennifer Srubar, Lloyd Srubar Jr., Lacey Murphey, Brandy Mann, Kevin Koudela, Hunter Koudela, Carl Morrison III, Lindsey LeCompte and Ryan LeCompte; great-grandchildren, Dylan Johnston, Clayton Mann, Paige Norton, Dustie Koudela, Justin Koudela and Kyndal Brune. Mr. Koudela was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Roy Koudela. A Wake service was held Tuesday, June 17 at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Hillje. Funeral services are today, Wednesday, June 18 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church in Hillje with the Rev. Clement Quainoo officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Pallbearers are Zachary Koudela, Keith Koudela, Paul Koudela, Kevin Koudela, Lloyd Srubar Jr. and Carl Morrison.
