Herald Coaster, January 17, 1986: Funeral services for Walter L. Kopycinski, Sr., 88, of Richmond, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Davis-Dawson Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Monsignor Robert Barzyk will officiate. Kopycinski, a member of Holy Rosary and the National Polish Alliance, died Thursday afternoon at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond. He was a retired farmer and a former employee of the A.P. George Ranch. Kopycinski is preceded in death by his wife, Theresa, who died Dec. 19, 1984, and his son, T.J. Kopycinski, who died Nov. 2, 1985. Survivors include two daughters, Dora Kopycinski of Houston, Marie and her husband, Bob Hemphill of Houston; three sons, Raymond and wife, Janie Kopycinski, of Houston, Florence Kopycinski of Richmond, and Walter and his wife, Margie Kopycinski, of Dallas; a brother, Bruno Kopycinski of Lufkin; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Margie Kopycinski of Navasota. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Larry, Joey, and Kevin Kopycinski, Robert A. Hemphill, Christopher Picard, and Reid Laymance.
