Bio

CLYDE — Billy Joe "Bill" Hawk, 71 of Clyde, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 in a local nursing center. Services are at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Toby Henson officiating. Burial will follow in the Admiral Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 — 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Hawk was born January 31, 1935 in Sudan, Texas to John Luther and Cynthia Ida (Walkup) Hawk. He moved to Clyde from Farwell, Texas in 1941. He grew up in Clyde and graduated from Clyde High School in 1953. Mr. Hawk owned and operated Hawk Top Manufacturers for over 37 years. He was retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve. Survivors include one son, Tony Hawk of Clyde; two daughters, Tonya Hawk of California and Martha Hawk of Oklahoma; one brother, John L. Hawk, Jr. of Clyde; one sister, Tippie Deardorff of Clyde; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
