Phillip Michael Collins October 22, 1949 - November 25, 2014 Phillip Michael "Mike" Collins, most recently of Big Springs, Texas, passed away Tuesday evening, November 25, 2014, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Collins was 65. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at O'Brien Cemetery in O'Brien with Tex Cox officiating. Arrangements were made under the care of Smith Family Funeral Home. Mike was born in Knox City, Texas on October 22, 1949, to Ruby and Claude Collins. He attended Knox City High School prior to joining the United State Marine Corp in 1970. He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters; and 1 brother. Mike is survived by his daughter, Michelle Matlock and husband Jim; and son Wade Collins and wife Kristin; grandchildren, Jami Matlock, Taylor Swann, Tanner Matlock, Coltin Collins, Harley Collins, Kinzie Collins; 3 sisters, Mary, Claudia, and Cynthia; and 1 brother, Sonny.
