Bio

Mrs. Rose Schmeidler, 316 W. 15th, died Monday at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays, at the age of 72. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be said at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brock's North Hill Chapel. There will be a parish wake at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday also at Brock's. Calling hours are from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and form 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Schmeidler is survived by her husband, W. J. (Bill), of the home and three sons, Ernest and James, both of Wichita, and William, Buena Vista, Colo. Three daughters also survive, Sr. Bonaventure (Elsie) S.C., Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Carol Romme, Hays, and Mrs. Jeanette Flax, Topeka. Two brothers and five sisters also survive, Alois M. Wolf, Brighton, Colo., Alphonse Wolf, Hays, Mrs. Victor Bunker, Greeley, Colo., and Mrs. Sam Hayton, Mrs. Matt Zimmerman, Mrs. Lawrence Arnhold, and Mrs. Gerald Leiker, all of Hays. There are 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Hays Daily News, 9/21/1976
