Bio

Goldie Mary Snipes Howard, was born June 30, 1950, in White Oak, Mo, to the late Jessie Arthur and Frieda Louise (Cook) Snipes, and departed this life on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at her residence in Hayti, Mo., at the age of 64. On August 22, 1970, she was united in marriage to William Thomas "W.T." Howard. Goldie was the youngest of eight children She was a graduate of Holcomb High School. She attended The School of the Ozarks, in Branson, Mo., for two years. Goldie's joy and lifelong work was with the Employment Security office, in Caruthersville, Mo She retired after 30+ years of dedication to the residents of Pemiscot and Dunklin Counties. She is survived by her husband, W.T.; one daughter, Janet Allison, and husband, Aaron; one son, Tony Howard, and special friend, Crystal Daniels; eight grandchildren, Dylan Riddick, Devan Riddick, Jordan Allison, Carilynn Howard, Payton Riddick, Christel Allison, Lenni-Emma Howard, and Cross Anthony Howard; one great-grandchild, Dean Riddick; three brothers, Hubert Snipes, Buford Snipes and Harold Snipes; two sisters, Louise Snipes, and Berry Rose Tharpe; several nieces and nephews; and extended family. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Snipes and Joe Snipes. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m., Tuesday, November 18 2014 at the Hayti Unites Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at the Hayti United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, in Kennett. Pallbearers are Michael, Tracy, Eric and Kyndl Snipes, Joshua, and Aaron Tharpe. Honorary pallbearers is Kyle Snipes. John W. German Funeral Home, of Hayti, is in charge of the arrangements.
