She was the daughter of Henderson Ambrose "Hence" and Mary Lee (Austell) Shelton and married Lavert Plattenburg - 22 Dec 1918 - Franklin Co., Tennessee. Her obituaries follow: Mrs. Plattenburg Dies at Age 74 -- Mrs. Nettie Shelton Plattenburg of Winchester died Monday at the Franklin County JHospital following a brief illness. She was 74. Funeral services were Tuesday at the Watson Funeral Home with Charles Gentry officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memorial Gardens. A native of Lincoln County, Mrs. Plattenburg was born February 2, 1898. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Curtis Jackson of Cowan and Mrs. Mack Pickett of Kelso; two sons, Paul Plattenburg and Billy Plattenburg of Winchester; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Couch, Tullahoma, and Mrs. Dave Tucker of Winchester; one brother, Alton Shelton of Flintville; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
