Bio
Virgil E. Jones 61, of Troup, formerly of Gilmer County, died Friday, April 12, 1996 at home following an extended illness. He was a machinist supervisor and attended Temple Grace Baptist Church, Kilgore. Surviving are his wife, Lorene; mother, Thelma Jones of Sand Fork; a son, Barry of Kilgore: a daughter, Renee Lopez of Dodge City, Kansas; six stepsons Gene West of Victorville, California; Donald, Cary, David, Michael and Charles Dyke, all of Midland; three step daughters, Delores Franks of Kilgore, Hazel Lamar and Paula Lasley, both of Midland; a brother Bobby of Glenville, two sisters, Manoka Turner of Sand Fork and Rita Hardman of Marietta, Ohio. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 16,1996, at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Reverend Hugh Murphy officiating. Burial was in Collins Community Cemetery, Stumptown.
