Dolores Kathleen Garrett Meyer passed from this earth very suddenly on Sunday, September 28, 2014 in Springfield, Virginia. Dodie was born March 22, 1955 in Killeen, Texas the daughter of Floyd A. Garrett, Sr. and Josephine Slovak Garrett. She attended Ennis High School and was a member of the class of 1973. She moved to Springfield in 2005 where she was employed at SAIC for the last five years. She and Liz loved to travel. Every Christmas they would cook a huge dinner for those who had no family to spend Christmas with. Dodie's wonderful acts of humanity will be greatly missed She is survived by her spouse, Elizabeth Woodard of Springfield, VA; daughter, Stacy A. Meyer of Hewitt, TX; father, Floyd A. Garrett of Ennis; sister, Anna M. Tanner and husband Don of Ennis; two nieces: Christina L. Garrett and Maegan R. Tanner; one great nephew, Kobe Hoggatt also aunts, uncles and many cousins in and around Ennis. Dodie is preceded in death by her mother, Josephine; brother, Allen and sister, Wanda. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society, a cause that was very dear to her heart. A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at
