Scottsbluff Star Herald, Tuesday, January 29, 2002 Scottsbluff, Nebraska Alma Wells MITCHELL — Funeral services for Alma Wells, 77, of Mitchell, who died Sunday Jan. 27, 2002 at her home, will be held Thursday Jan. 31, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff with the Reverend Dale Brown officiating. Interment will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Friends who wish may call at the Jolliffe Funeral Home today from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., and at the funeral. A memorial has been established to the church. She was born Feb. 17, 1924 at Durham, Kan. to Adam and Eva (Eckert) Zitterkopf. At an early age she moved with her family to the Mitchell area where she grew up and attended Mitchell Public Schools. She married Harold Foglesong on Dec. 16, 1946 at Scottsbluff and they farmed in rural Gering. She married Leslie Earl Wells on Sept. 26, 1976 at Mitchell and they lived in the Cedar Canyon area. She worked for the Great Western Sugar Laboratory in Gering from 1961 until 1984. Alter their retirement, they moved to Mitchell where she had resided since. She was a lifetime member of the church, and was a member of the Salem Study Circle. She enjoyed gardening, especially raising flowers. She is survived by husband, Leslie Earl Wells of Mitchell; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janice Foglesong of Mitchell; daughter and son-in-law, EvaLou and Dennis Strauch of Mitchell; stepchildren, Donald and Norma Wells of Gering, Bill and Shirlee Wells, and Patricia Ann and Burt Morrison all of Loveland, Colo., and Richard and Linny Wells of Gering sisters, Esther Eckhardt of Mitchell, Elsie Dutzer of Polson, Mont. and Helen Bott of Gering sisters-in-law, Jeanette Zitterkopf and Wilma Zitterkopf both of Scottsbluff; grandchildren Nichole, Kellan and Blake Strauch all of Mitchell; step grandchildren, Teri Wells, Greg Wells, Lisa Peterson, Chandra De Los Santos, Chad Morrison, Chad Wells and Shane Wells; seven step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jake and Albert Zitterkopf and sisters, Elizabeth Fields and Katherine Haberman. Contributor: CPoole (48477862) •
