MITCHELL - Adam Zitterkopf, 86, of Route 1, Mitchell, died Tuesday afternoon at a Scottsbluff hospital. He was born Nov. 16, 1882 at Huck, Russia. He was married to Eva Eckert at Huck. They came to the United States in 1912 to Herington, Kan. He was associated with the Rock Island Railroad as a boilermaker at Herington until 1924 when he moved to the North Platte Valley. Upon h is retirement in 1947 he moved with his wife to Mitchell. His wife preceded him in death in April of 1957. He was a member of the Salem Congregational Church. Survivors include two sons, Jack of Route 1, Lyman and Albert of Scottsbluff; four daughters, Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Fields, Mrs. Conrad (Esther) Eckhardt, Mrs. Alma Foglesong, all of Route 1, Mitchell and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Bott of Gering; and 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. An infant son and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Benson-Joliffe Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Salem Congregational Church.
