Aloma Ruth Holstead of McAlester, OK died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at her home at the age of 72. Aloma was born July 21, 1942 in McAlester, OK to Bailey and Fannie (Crawley) Moseley. She was a retired business owner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bailey and Fannie (Crawley) Moseley; and, brothers and sisters, Howard Moseley, Lorin Moseley, Rockie Jones, Elizabeth McSwain, Darlene Sennett, Ella Mankins, and Merle-dean Moseley. The family will greet friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester, OK. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 3, 2014 at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Earp officiating. Interment will follow at Tannehill Cemetery, McAlester, OK. Pallbearers will be: Anthony Monroe, Larry Jones, Johnny Gray, Timothy Tripp, Vincent Tripp and Bill Monroe. Honorary Pallbearers will be: William Curtis and Tom Uva and the Staff of May's Home Health. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Chaney Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester, OK. She also has a headstone at Oak Hill in McAlester. Out of respect for Aloma we (John David Holstead's children) did not remove the headstone she shared with our father John D. Holstead. My last conversation with Aloma was in 2009 we had lunch together and she told me she wanted to be buried next to our father in Oak Hill Cemetery. I do not know why she was buried in Tannehill Cemetery. In July, 2025 my brother and I placed a memorial stone in Oak Hill Cemetery for Dorothy E. Talburt next to our father's navy military stone. Dorothy is buried next to John. A photo of the stone is now shown in her ancestry.com gallery and in her findagrave memorial. Margie, John David Holstead's daughter.
