Bio

Albert L. Hoffman, 97, Anderson, passed away September 29, 2014, at Keystone Woods after an extended illness. He was born August 16, 1917, in Buffalo Co., Nebraska, the son of the late Otto and Alpha (Dwiggins) Hoffman. He move to Anderson in 1937 and served in the US Army during WWII. He retired in 1984 from Container Corp after 40 years and was a former member of the Elk's Lodge and was an avid golfer. Albert is survived by his three children, James (Janet Neese) Hoffman of Frankton, Eric (Tammy) Hoffman of Henderson, NV and Linda (Kevin) York of Carmel; five grandchildren, Emily Hoffman, Adriene Hoffman, Wes Hoffman, Jessica Rene Hoffman and Daniele Clarissa Hoffman; three step-grandchildren, Mathew McGuire, Casey Graham, Kylie Graham and one great grandchild, Kiran; one sister, Esther Boots and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister and brothers, Doris Lynch, Dick Hoffman, William Hoffman, Jim Hoffman; the mother of his children, Helen L. Hoffman and a special friend of 37 years, Deirde Fridley. The family would like to thank the staff of Keystone Woods and Heartland Hospice for all their care and concerns. Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory , with Pastor Mark Aleshire officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
