Waterloo Daily Courier, Waterloo, Iowa Wednesday, September 19, 1951, Page 17 Karoline Madsen of Cedar Falls Taken by Death Cedar Falls--Mrs. Karoline H. Madsen, 80, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday at her home, 114 West Sixteenth street, of bronchogenic carcinoma. She had been a resident of Cedar Falls about 25 years. She was born at Frisenvold, Denmark, Sept. 18, 1871, the daughter of Kristian and Ane Henriksen, and came to the United States with her parents. They lived at Luck, Wis., during her childhood. On Oct. 19, 1891, she became the bride of Anders Olaf Madsen at Waterloo, and they engaged in farming for many years in the vicinity of Cedar Falls. Mrs. Madsen was preceded in death by a daughter in 1915 and by her husband in 1919. She left the farm and moved to Cedar Falls to live. She is survived by five daughters and four sons, Mrs. V.M. Hansen, Bridgeport, Conn.; Mrs. P.B. Petersen, Ringsted; Mrs. C. B. Hansen, Cedar Falls; Sigrid Madsen, New Hartford; Julia, at home; Einer Madsen, Parker, Colo.; Helge and Bernhardt, New Hartford and hart Madsen, Cedar Falls grocer. She is also survived by six sisters, a brother, 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Madsen was a charter member of the St. Ansgar Lutheran church of Waterloo, and for more than 50 years had been an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran church of Cedar Falls, and its Ladies’ Aid society. Funeral service is pending. The body is at the Dahl funeral home.
