Waterloo Evening Courier and Reporter, Waterloo, Iowa Thursday, April 6, 1915, Page 12 Funeral of Little Girl Wednesday Cedar Falls, April 6--Funeral services over the remains of Alpha Madsen, the little girl whose tragic end by strangulation was noted in last night’s issue of this paper, will be held at the O. Madsen home, six miles northwest of city, Wednesday afternoon at 1, the pastor, Rev. J. Christiansen, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Madsen, have the sympathy of the entire community, as have the brothers and sisters, of whom there are six. One sister is married and another was soon to be married. Alpha was nearly 13 years old, a peculiarly bright and attractive little girl, who often went early to school that she might help the teacher light the fire or get things in readiness for school to begin. She was caught while climbing in the window when the sash fell up her neck, strangling her to death, and her body was found in the window when the teacher arrived. The night before, in company with her parents and other children, she was one of the bright interested congregation at the sacred concert given by the young people in the Danish Bethlehem church. The family lived six miles from here, near Benson.
