According to research by Jennifer Styskal Faust (#47308726) she was the daughter of Martin Stanek and Marianna Krahlik and married Jan Horacek on January 30, 1866 at Omice. '''''''''''''''''''''''''' Brainard Clipper , February 5, 1925, p. 5, col. 4 MRS. CLARA HORACEK Mrs. Clara Horacek who passed away last Thursday afternoon at 3:30 at the home of her son Frank Horacek, living seven miles southeast of Brainard, after several weeks of illness. She was born in Moravia on October 15, 1845. Her maiden name was Clara Stanek. Growing to womanhood she was united in marriage to John Horacek and they became parents of fourteen children, six of whom died in early childhood, the other eight five sons and three daughters survive their mother. In 1880 the family immigrated to America and settled on a farm 2½ miles east of Brainard, later moving to a farm 2 miles west of town where their son, Joe, now lives. Mr. Horacek died about twenty-three years ago. For the last several years Mrs. Horacek lived with her son, Frank. The living children are: John, Anton, Frank and Joe, all living in or near Brainard; Rudolph of Chambers, Mrs. Frank Cermak and Mrs. Frances Vavra of Brainard and Mrs. Frank Osmera of near Dwight. All were present at the funeral of their mother, except Anton, who was in a sanitarium at Fairbury. Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Catholic church Saturday morning and burial was in the Brainard Catholic cemetery. ____ CARD OF THANKS We wish to extend our sincere thanks to all kind friends and relatives who assisted us during the illness and death of our mother and also to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Horacek and family for the beautiful flowers.
