LATE NEWS FROM LEWISVILLE (Condensed from the Enterprise) The Enterprise says in part pronouncing the death of James Cates a citizen of the Lewisville and Lonesome Dove Community, who died at his home 4 miles north of Lewisville Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Cates was 64 years of age lived on his farm the past 17 years. He and his wife married in Tennessee in 1870. They have four married sons living in this vicinity three single sons at home. and a married daughter in Roanoke. Mr. Cates was an honorable, upright citizen who enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all who knew him. he had been for years a member of the Baptist church and was a charter member of the first Woodman Lodge organized in Denton County. His remains were interned in Old Hall Cemetery Thursday morning at eleven o'clock under the inspires of the Lewisville Camp, of which he was a member. *Note concerning the daughter in Roanoke it possible to be the (daughter in law) wife of their late son James A Cate that is buried in Lonesome Dove Cemetery. The only daughter of known was killed in a school accident between 1890 and 1900 the family has no verification but only what was told to the family from James and Lenora's sons that they had a sister. There is no proof that she is buried at Old Hall Cemetery due to the records being destroyed by fire in the early 1900's. along with missing grave markers.
