Bio

Services for Mrs. Annie Belle Polk were held in the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Polk died in the Foard County Hospital. Born in Dallas, Texas, daughter of W.A. Wheeler, pioneer resident of Foard county, she married J.F. "Jim" Polk on 17 August 1897 in Vernon. Eleven children were born to this union, eight of whom survive. Mr. Polk preceded her in death. The family lived at Claytonville community for 21 years before his death. She united with the Free Will Baptist Church in the Claytonville community in 1922. Surviving are the children - Mrs. Clyde Beesinger, Mrs. C.W. Beesinger, Mrs. J.B. Little, Mrs. Ruby Holland, Mrs. Mattie Polk, Tom Polk, Mrs. Leo Morris, Frank Polk; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one half-brother - W.B. Wheeler; one step-brother - A.T. Schooley.
