Graveside services for Mozelle Owens, 76, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Abernathy Cemetery with Steve Gauntt, minister of Abernathy Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. She died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003. She was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Hamlin. She married Charles Owens on Feb. 23, 1945, in Garden City, Kan. She moved to Lubbock from Paris, Texas, in 1970 and previously had lived in Abernathy. She retired from Paddle Tramps in Lubbock and was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jim of Lubbock; a sister, Pauline Jenkins of Abilene; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
