William J. Hubl was born on September 25, 1930 to Joseph J. and Frances A. (Hajek) Hubl in Rural Lawrence, Nebraska. He departed this life Sunday, May 27, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 83. Bill completed Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and attended Lawrence High School through the 9th grade, staying home to work the family farm after his Dad was injured in a tractor accident. He married Patricia A. Menke on January 29, 1952 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church south of Lawrence, Nebraska. Bill farmed and raised cattle and hogs north of Lawrence. He loved listening to or watching baseball and football. He enjoyed fishing and going to his grandchildren's activities. He loved to listen to Polka's and Waltz's. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Lawrence, Nebraska. Bill is survived by his wife Patricia, Hastings; sons Donald & wife Marlene Hubl, Glenvil, Lyle & wife Mary Ann Hubl, Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughters, Karen & husband Loren Ostdiek, Lawrence, Lois & husband Ray Ostdiek, Lawrence, Joan & husband Randy Kudrna, Hastings; brothers Charles & wife Frances Hubl, Lawrence, twin brother John & wife Eileen Hubl, Lawrence; sister Rose Janda, Lawrence; sister-in-law Randi Hubl, Lincoln; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Alois Hubl; brother-in-law John Janda, granddaughter Renee Ostdiek. Rosary will be Thursday, July 31, 2014, 7:30 p.m. and Mass will be Friday, August 1, 2014, 10:00 a.m. both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lawrence, Nebraska with Father Thomas Bush Officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Lawrence, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 3:00-9:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Visitation Chapel, Lawrence, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Renovation Fund, Lawrence Community Foundation or Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department and EMT's.
