Hubl, 86, Lawrence, Nebraska passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska. Rosary will be Friday, March 9, 2018, 7:00 p.m. and Mass will be Saturday, March 10, 2018, 10:30 a.m. both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lawrence, Nebraska with Father Thomas Schultes officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Lawrence, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, March 9, 2018, 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Visitation Chapel, Lawrence, Nebraska. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements. ======= The Nuckolls County Locomotive-Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, March 15, 2018; pg. 8 Patricia Ann Elizabeth (Menke) Hubl was born on June 26, 1931 to George and Alvira (Buescher) Menke on a farm south of Lawrence, Nebraska. She departed this life on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 86. Patty attended St. Stephen's Catholic grade school and graduated in 1950 from Lawrence Public High School. She married William J. (Bill) Hubl on January 29, 1952 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, south of Lawrence, Nebraska. Patty was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Altar Society, Square Dance and Extension Clubs. Patty truly enjoyed being a farmer's wife, a homemaker and a caregiver. Patty spent many hours outside helping with the farm chores and hauling grain. Patty also enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, sewing, crocheting, quilting and spending time with her family. She delighted in making rolls and kolaches every Saturday, which her children and grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed. Preceding her in death was her husband William J. Hubl; her parents; brother and sister-in-law LeRoy (Sonny) and Dottie Menke, brother LaVern Menke, brother-in-law Robert Faimon, sister-in-law Lois Menke and granddaughter Renee Ostdiek. Patty is survived by sons, Donald Joe (Marlene) Hubl, Glenvil, Lyle (Mary Ann) Hubl, Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughters Karen (Loren) Ostdiek, Lawrence, Lois (Ray) Ostdiek, Lawrence, Joan (Randy) Kudrna, Hastings; brother, Everett Menke; sisters Maureen Faimon, Blue Hill, Donna (John) Himmelberg, Lawrence; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Hubl began last Friday evening with a Rosary at Sacred Heart church (sic). The Funeral Service Mass was offered by Pastor, Rev. Thomas Schultes Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence, Nebraska. Assisting at the service were: Acolyte, Pat Himmelberg; Altar Boys, Cody Hubl and Kyle Hubl; Gift bearers: Beth Belitz, Jeanne Holz, Tracy Brockman and Emily Ostdiek. Organist was Christy Kirschner and Song Leaders were Sara Sanson and Julie Bornemeier; Musicians were Erin Hubl and Cara Larmore. Pallbearers were Doug Hubl, Kevin Ostdiek, Matthew Kudrna, Andrew Hubl, Thomas Ostdiek and Ethan Meerkatz. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Catholic parish Cemetery east of Lawrence. A memorial has been established to be designated at a later date. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
