Bio

He moved to San Augustine County, Texas, with his parents in 1835, and married Viola Olivia Alexander on January 20, 1842. They moved to Hopkins County during the 1850s where he engaged in the Mercantile Business with his brother John Marion Ewing, from 1856 to 1862 at Tarrant. He was a lawyer and was elected to the offices of County Treasurer and Justice of the Peace in Hopkins County. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 91, at Tarrant.
