Married Oct 17 1942 Loup City, Sherman, NE -------------------------------------- Lydia Zikmund Lydia Zikmund, 76, of Ord died June 7, 1996 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Funeral services were held June 11 at 2 pm at the Ord Memorial Chapel in Ord with burial in the Ord City Cemetery. Mrs. Zikmund was born Dec. 27, 1919, 17 miles southwest of Ord in Valley county to Joseph and Julia (Rutar) Nevrivy. She was raised on the farm near Arcadia. She attended school at Yale rural school Dist. #16 and also at the Fairplay rural school Dist #26, both in Valley county. She was married to Emil Zikmund, Oct. 17, 1942, at Loup City. They farmed southwest of Ord for four years and then moved to a farm near Fort Hartsuff where they lived for one year. They then moved to a farm in the Sandflats area of Valley county where they lived the rest of their lives. Mr. Zikmund died Sept. 25, 1967. She was a 50 year member of the ZCBJ Lodge #14. She enjoyed flowers gardening, cooking, raising chickens and ducks. Survivors include one son, James Zikmund of Ord; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Novak of Ord and Addie Jensen of Grand Island; one brother, Junior Joseph Nevrivy of Ord.
