Nancy was the young daughter of Bryant Gilmore and Charlotte Wilson. Obituary: Nancy Emma Gilmore, daughter of Bryant and Charlotte Gilmore, was born October 17, 1873 and died August 23, 1876. Her disease was diphtheria. She bore her illness from the beginning to the end without a single complaint. She was gone from our gaze like a dream into that distant and glorious Eden, where love becomes immortal and kindred ties are never severed. Her pleasant, angelic face will be seen no more on earth, and the bright eyes that one mother loved are now sealed in death. She wanted to meet her little brother in heaven, and said "Mother, rock me to sleep." Her little seat is now vacant, and we are called upon again to mourn with those that mourn. We will miss the sweet baby here, and drop a tear of sympathy with the bereaved father and mother, sisters and brothers; but we would not call her back, gathered in the fold of the loving Savior who blessed little children and said "Let them come unto Me". No; rest thee dear child, in thy immortal youth and innocense; we feel assured that thou are better off; for thou has gained eternal life. Oh bright and beautiful Emma, We miss you in our home. And wrapped in sorrows mantle We tread earth's paths alone; But yet the thought ariseth Within our beating breast That somewhere in the future We'll be with thee at rest. And o'er the darksome river Kissing the golden shore, We'll meet again in heaven And meet to part no more.
