Note: The spelling of the surname might be seen as KOZAL on some records. ==== Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Thursday, Jan. 6, 1966 Andrew Koziol, 44, 208 South Oak, a former carpenter for the Geer Company, died Tuesday following a long illness. Arrangements are pending at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Mr. Koziol was born Feb. 8, 1921, at Tarnov to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Koziol. Due to the deaths of his parents during his childhood, he was taken to the home of relatives in New York City and grew up there. He became a carpenter in New York City. He came to Grand Island in 1946 and was employed by Lacy Building and Supply Co. For 12 years he was a carpenter for The Geer Co. He had been unable to work for the last two years due to ill health. He is survived by two brothers, Michael Koziol, Grand Island and Gerhardt Koziol, Humphrey. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and one sister. (And follow-up) Funeral services for Andrew Koziol were observed Friday in St. Mary's Cathedral. A requiem mass was offered. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Carl T. Hayden was the celebrant. Pallbearers were Gervin A. Kudron, Leonard Koziol, David Koziol, Martin Koziol, Larry Koziol, and Jerry Koziol. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Westlawn Memorial Park.
