Herald Coaster, July 1, 1974: Funeral services for Fred Andrew Kennelly, 81, of Rosenberg, were held at 2 p.m. today from the First Baptist Church in Rosenberg, with the Rev. John Paul Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Huntsville, and the Rev. Elmer Mayne, pastor of St. John's United Methodist Church of Richmond, officiating. Also taking part in the service was the Rev. Leslie C. Welch, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Garmany and Co. Funeral Directors. Mr. Kennelly died on June 29, at Eldridge Memorial Hospital in Sugar Land. A Fort Bend County native, he farmed and ranched and was in real estate and oil leasing work before his retirement. He served in the 90th Division of the 360th infantry, the machine gun company, in World War I. He and his wife, the former Sallie Brown, were married in 1914 in Richmond and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He was a member of the Morton Masonic Lodge 72, and received his 50-year pin in 1958. He was a charter member of Rosenberg VFW Post 3903 and managed cotton gins in Richmond and Needville. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sallie Brown Kennelly; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Belle Rice, Mrs. Jessie Mae Skinner, and Mrs. Thelma Callender, all of Rosenberg; three sons, Clyde B. Kennelly of Rosenberg, Andrew J. Kennelly of Houston, and Shirley Kennelly of Richmond; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Harmon Kennelly of Houston; one half-brother, J.T. Brumbelow of Brazoria; four half-sisters, Mrs. Ruby Hoot of Brazoria, Mrs. Dora Dunn of Rosenberg, Mrs. Jewel Riley and Mrs. Verdell Whitlow, both of Timpson.
