Irene Leggett Atkinson, 96, of Cuero, died Wednesday, August 6, 2003. She was born May 7, 1907, in Greenville, to the late Fred and Mae Reed Leggett. Survivors: daughter, Jane Esterak; sons, Donald Atkinson of Victoria, Fred Atkinson of Pencil Bluff, Ark., Jasper Atkinson of Calallen, and James Atkinson of Robstown; sister, Ruby Spiers of Corpus Christi; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, Hoy L. Atkinson; five sisters; and one brother. Graveside services were Saturday, August 9 at Robstown Cemetery. Sawyer-George Funeral Home, Calallen, 361-242-3205.
