posted September 6th, 2000 on theindependent.com Barbara Bailey WINNER, S.D. — Barbara Ellen Bailey, 88, of Winner, S.D., died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at the Winner Regional Nursing Home. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mason Funeral Home in Winner, S.D. Mrs. Bailey was born on May 1, 1912, at Ord to Hans and Frances Andersen. She grew up in Ord, graduating from Ord High School. She attended business school in Grand Island. She married Reginald Beegley in 1932. Following his death in 1951, she worked in various bookkeeping positions throughout the United States. She married Jack Bailey on May 10, 1961. He died on Sept. 10, 1993. She lived the rest of her life in Winner. She loved the outdoors, pheasant hunting, fishing and flower gardening. She loved animals and enjoyed painting. She was an avid card player. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Winner and the Catholic Daughters. Survivors include her stepdaughter, Kitty Little; and two grandsons. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Frank and Vernon.
