Bio
Fred Cornaby Childs On June18, 2014, Fred Cornaby Childs, age 79, returned to Our Father in Heaven. His passing was due to a fall. He was a wonderful husband to Anita Richmond Childs. They were married Aug 2, 1955 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a happy, exemplary Father to five children. Lynn (Diane) Childs, Scott (Brenda) Childs, Cindy Yamane (Stan), Kris Woolington (Mark), and Lisa Childs. A grandfather to 19 and a great grandfather to 16. He loved his family and delighted in being with them. Born on May 30, 1935 and raised in Springville, UT to Russell Clay and Clara May Cornaby Childs. Bothers Ardeen, Floyd , Dale and DeVere Childs. Two sisters Delores Childs Crandall and Carolee Childs Newman. He was active in sports and student gov. at Springville High School where he graduated. He also attended BYU and WSU but remained a loyal true blue Cougar! He was a skilled cement mason, truck driver/supervisor for Cream O Weber Dairy. Also drove for Deseret Transportation and enjoyed driving bus for Davis School District. Very patriotic, he loved his country and served as a Sunset City councilman for 18 years and as mayor. He was active member in the LDS church, serving in the ward and stake. He served as Bishop of the Sunset 7th ward. He fulfilled ward missions, served in the Ogden temple, and was a Stake and area sports director for many years. Interment in Syracuse Cemetery.
