Bio

Wanda Behlen, 70, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Columbus Community Hospital. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 10:30 A.M. at Gass Haney Funeral. Interment will be in the All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Wanda was born March 5, 1944, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Alexander and Delia (Langan) Allison. Wanda grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School. On March 23, 1964, Wanda was united in marriage to Kurt Behlen and to this union 3 daughters were born. Wanda worked at Dorothy Lynch for a while before going to work at Becton Dickinson where she worked for many years. Wanda enjoyed cooking, gardening, painting, the arts, and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Wanda is survived by: Daughter: Maria (David) Shonka Daughter: Stephani (David) Asche Daughter: Angela (Brian) King Grandchildren: Tiffannie, Cameron, Dillon, Holdon, and Kurt Shonka Trevor and Savannah King Sister: Marilyn (Keith) Bruhn Sister: Bonnie Boswell Wanda was preceded in death by: Parents: Alexander and Delia Allison Grandson: Austin Shonka Brother: Gary Allison
