He was a Farmer. He married Frances Adeline Johnson on Oct 5, 1879 in Delaware, Arkansas and they had 14 children together. Obit: Green W. Jay of Oklahoma City died suddenly last Saturday afternoon while sitting in a car at one of the Sallisaw garages. He had stopped here to have his car repaired. The body was removed to Wheeler-Stevenson funeral home to be prepared for burial. Mr. Jay was accompanied to Sallisaw by John Shoemaker and Clarence Edward Flurry of Oklahoma City. Mr. Jay was born, Sept 22, 1853 in Walker County, Georgia. Funeral service and burial was held January 8 at Delaware, Ark., with Rev. T. J. Gotcher, pastor of the Assembly of God church of which Mr. Jay was a member, officiating. Surviving relatives are the widow, Mrs. Addie Jay of Oklahoma City, four sons, Elmer of Oklahoma City, Joe Dogan and Lee of Delaware, Ark. And two daughters, Mrs. Lottie Hershfield of Delaware, Ark. and Mrs. Minnie Rollands of Scranton.
