Bio

Mrs. Matt Schaefer, 89, of R. 3, Chilton, died Thursday night July 18, at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, following a lengthy illness. The former Anastasia Watry was born in the town of Stockbridge on March 18, 1885, a daughter of the late Dominic and Anna Sampson Watry. She was married to Mr. Schaefer in November, 1911, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Kloten. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Stockbridge, and its Christian Mothers society. Survivors include five sons, Hugo, Clem, Paul and Robert, all of rural Chilton, and Raymond, R. 1, Menasha; 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two brothers, John, Milwaukee, and Victor, Chilton and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Jacky, Malone and Mrs. Isabelle Schmidt, Francis Creek. Her husband preceded her in death. Funeral services were at St. Mary Catholic Church, Stockbridge, the Rev. David Koehne, pastor, celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
