Thanks to contributor #48796369; NELLIE GOULD Burial of the ashes of Nellie Gould, 92, of 412 N. White will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arcadia Cemetery. Mrs. Gould died May 2, 2000, at her home in Grand Island. Mrs. Gould was born Aug. 26, 1907, at Arcadia to Dan and Belle (Hughes) Thompson. She grew up at Arcadia and graduated from school there. She received her teaching degree from Kearney State College in 1929. She married William Beams in 1929. They lived in Ord until 1932, when they moved to Arcadia. She was a telephone operator there. She married Howard Gould on Jan. 24, 1952, at Central City. They lived in Grand Island. Mrs. Gould was a telephone operator and desk clerk at the Yancey Hotel in Grand Island for 18 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was active in the Foster Grandparents at Connell and Gates School. Survivors include a son, Floyd Beams of Blacksburg, Va.; three daughters, Gwendolyn Keldsen and Belle (Mrs. Oscar) Burt, both of Lincoln and Brenda Cummings of Grand Island; three stepsons, Don and Calvin Gould, both of Arcadia, and Earl Dean Gould of Kearney; 22 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971; a son, James Beams; a stepson, Dale Gould; two grandsons; and two brothers, Clarence and Virgil.
