Bio

Elbert served in the U.S. Army like his brothers. He enlisted on 23 July 1947 and rose the rank of Private First Class. He served with US Forces during the 1946 Occupation of Korea during "Operation Blacklist Forty" and suffered a service-related injury. He was discharged "under honorable conditions" on 10 November 1948. He later joined the Disabled American Veterans organization.
