Bio

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher passed away peacefully surrounded by love on May 1, 2014 in Helper, Utah at the age of eighty-three. Born March 25, 1931 in Richfield, Utah, the eldest of five sisters, to Joseph Clair Orrock and Lila Rose Christensen. She was raised in Joseph, Sevier County, and left the farm for BYU, where she earned her BA in 1953, and her M.Ed. from USU in 1984. She taught school for forty-one ½ years with a master's degree in elementary education as well as an early childhood certificate. She loved her work and loved to go to school all her life. She did post-graduate work in social studies in her 70's through the U of U. She loved to travel and learn about people. Beverly married Yoshio George Tadehara in Brighton, Colorado on December 29, 1954. They raised their family of four kids in Murray and Sandy, Utah, where she was a strong and faithful LDS woman. She worked in the Sunday School, Primary, and Relief Society. She was proud to be a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Alpha Delta Kappa sorority. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, loved roses, and genealogy. She often 'quizzed' her family on family. Singing with her grandchildren always brought a smile to her face. Survived by her sons, Sami (Kathryn Maiben), Pocatello, Idaho; Lari (Julia), Helper, Utah; and Tomi (Elaine), Lehi, Utah; and daughter, Diane (Duane Christensen), Ferron, Utah; more than two dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Christensen; and special friend and companion, Vernon Jensen, who brought tremendous joy and love to her last months. Predeceased by her husband, Yoshio George; and sisters: Elaine Harris, Anna Lou Seely, Donna Kiss-Illes, and Kathleen Ellibee. Special thanks to Parkdale Health & Rehab and Symbii Home Health & Hospice for all their love and support. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Fausett Mortuary, 680 East 100 South, Price. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in the Millsite Ward Chapel, 35 West 200 North, Ferron. Following the funeral, there will be a graveside service held for friends and family in the Salt Lake area at 2:30 p.m. in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 17111 South Camp Williams Road (1700 West), Bluffdale. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune from May 3 to May 4, 2014.
