James B. Rammage, 94, of Checotah, Oklahoma passed from this life on Tuesday night, January 3, 2006 in Checotah, Oklahoma. James B. Rammage was born August 3, 1911, in Felt, Oklahoma the son of James and Susie (Browder) Rammage. Jim served in the United States Army during WWII where he was a Sargent and earned several awards including the American Defense Ribbon, Good Conduct Metal, Three Bronze Campaign Stars, and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon. He was honorably discharged on October 2, 1945. He married Marian Faye Edmonds, who proceded him in death. Jim moved to Checotah about seven years ago from Cushing, Oklahoma. Other than his wife, preceding him in death were his parents, two sons James and Virgil Rammage, one daughter Lynn Clark on June 14, 2005, three brothers Henry, George and Tom Rammage and four sisters Elizabeth Myers, Irane Benson, Clara Perkins and Agnes Taylor. Survivors include two daughters; Haytchen Wright of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Ava and husband Sonny Pollock of Dalhart, Texas; son-in-law Dave Clark of Checotah, Oklahoma; two brothers; Bill and Joe Rammage; four grandsons, five grand-daughters; and twenty-one great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., in the First Baptist Church in Felt, Oklahoma, with Rev. Billy Ed Rammage officiating. Burial will follow in Bertrand Cemetery, Cimarron County, Oklahoma, with grandsons serving as casket bearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Mortuary, 211 W.
