Bio

Graveside services for Sadie Keenum, 92, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cumbie with Terry Bryan of Klondike Baptist Church officiating. Burial arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Keenum died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in Prairie House Living Center. She was born Aug. 5, 1912, in Hopkins County near Sulphur Springs. She grew up and attended schools in Hopkins County. She moved to Plainview in 1946 and was a former member of Parkview Baptist Church. On Dec. 29, 1943, she married Augustus Newton Keenum in Greenville. He died May 3, 1972. Survivors include a daughter, Joann Carroll of Abilene; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Brenda Keenum of Plainview; a brother, Walter Yates of Commerce; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. They will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce. Bio from C.R.
