Mrs. John (Sophie) Gerath, 74, of Waco died Friday morning in a Waco hospital after a long illness. Rosary was recited Friday at Wilkerson and Hatch Chapel. Services were held Saturday in Wilkerson and Hatch Chapel with Rev. Ed Rabroker officiating. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Gerath was born May 1, 1901, in West. She moved to Waco 40 years ago. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption where she was active in volunteer work. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Joe D. (Martha) Holey of Waco, Mrs. Jerry (Josephine) Palmer of Valley Mills and Mrs. Zim (Barbara) McDowell of Houston; two sons, John P. Gerath of Waco, and Bernard J. Gerath of Watauga; three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Millie) Ondrej of Penelope, Mrs. George (Ann) Hale of Waco and Mrs. L.D. (Helen) Cook of Midland; four brothers, Ed Urbanovsky of Waco, Alphonse Urbanovsky of Bellmead, Gus Urbanovsky of Houston, and Robert C.
