John P Gerath SR., 58, died Nov. 27, 1988 in Waco TX. Services at Wilkirson Hatch chapel, burial in Rosemound Cemetery. Mr. Gerath was born in West Station TX on May 1, 1930, moving to Waco as a young child. In 1952 he married Martha Jane Eldridge. He is a veteran of the Korean War, and worked for Owens Illinois Glass Plant for 31 years. Mr. Gerath was a member of Waco Bass Club and Herring Avenue United Methodist church. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Martha Gerath of 1715 Lyle Waco TX; daughters, Kelly Ann Lucas and Kay Lynn Gerath both of Waco TX; sons, John P. Gerath JR, and Randy Gerath both of Waco TX and Matt Gerath of Elm Mott TX; sisters, Martha Holey of Waco TX, Josephine Palmer of Valley Mills TX and Barbara McDowell of Houston TX; brother, Bennie Gerath of Grapevine TX and six grandchildren.
