Bio

BRANCH - JOHN L. SR., 59, of 2106 E. 25th St. Place, died Wednesday at his residence. A native of Winchester, Tenn., he moved to Chattanooga 30 years ago. He was retired from the U.S. Army and North American Royalties. A member of Temple Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elanor McArthur Branch. Survivors include a son, John L. Branch Jr., Chattanooga; four sisters, Mavis Ezell, Yonnie Steele, Betty Green and Effie Sisk, all of Winchester; brother, Tom Branch, Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ed McKeel officiating. Burial will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after noon today at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
