Bio

Janie Elsie Vacek, 76, of Friendswood, died Thursday at Humana Hospital- Clear Lake, Webster. Services Monday at Mary Queen Catholic Church of Friendswood, the Rev. Donald Thomas officiating. Burial with graveside services at Holy Cross Cemetery in El Campo. Arrangements under the direction of the Jack Rowe Funeral Home of League City. A rosary will be recited today at the funeral home. Born Sept. 9, 1912, in Megargel, Mrs. Vacek was retired from NASA. She was a member of Mary Queen Catholic and Sundowner's Senior Citizens Group. She was a resident of Friendswood for 15 years. Survivors include sons, Donald Vacker of Clear Lake City, Gilbert Vacker of Houston and Robert Vacker of Seattle, Wash.; a stepson, William Vacek Jr. of Seymour.
