John Raymond Knezek, 92, of Seymour, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Seymour. Christian wake services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour, with Rev. Raymond McDaniel and Deacon Jim Novak officiating. Interment will be in the Seymour Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home. J.R. was born Jan. 22, 1916, in Baylor County, Texas, to John and Mary Knezek. He married Anna Novak on Feb. 8, 1937, in Seymour, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 11, 1985. He was a farmer, and a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include one son, James Patrick Knezek and his wife, Janice of Seymour, Texas; five grandchildren, John, Joanne Smith and husband, Ricky, Kristen Trowbridge and husband, Donnie, Patrick, and Greg; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Pastusek of Fort Worth, Texas, and one brother, Robert of Arlington, Texas. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Ernest, Leo and Raymond, and one sister, Janie Vacek. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to the charity of choice.
