Bio

Walter grew up on the family farm near Minot, ND. He married Vanette Adeline Elsberry on 26 June 1946 in Minot. He worked as a farmer, concrete finisher and carpenter. He also worked in the oil fields of Tioga, ND. After he retired from that, he opened a flower shop & greenhouse in Byers, CO. Walter loved to garden and he loved farming. He retired in 1995 and moved to Paonia where he had a large garden. He was a Catholic and had been a member of the Bailey Lions Club and Bohemian Lodge in Minot, ND. Walter and Vanette had children: Thomas W., Larry Dean, Linda and Celia.
