Bio

Floyd W. Belcher Jr., 47, of Chillicothe, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, in Chillicothe. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, in First Christian Church of Quanah with the Rev. Wayne Hollinshead officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Quanah. He was born Oct. 25, 1964, in Quanah, a son of Floyd Belcher Sr. and the late Patricia Lea Podrovitz Belcher. A lifelong resident of Quanah, he was a graduate of Quanah High School. He and Fran Fisher were married on Sept. 19, 1988, in Goodlett. He was a crew chief for the Texas Department of Transportation and owner of Belcher Wild Hog Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his mother on June 14, 2009. Survivors include his wife, of Chillicothe; a son, Stefan Belcher of Chillicothe; his father, of Quanah; four sisters, Jan Guzman of Texarkana, Ark., and Mary Belcher, Melinda Belcher and Gina Belcher, all of Quanah; and a brother, James Belcher of Quanah. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
