Fort Bend Herald, November 9, 2012: Marion F. Eder, 88, of Needville, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012, in Needville. He was born July 11, 1924 in Wallis, Texas to Mike and Catherine Eder. Marion proudly served his country during World War II in the South Pacific and the Korean War. He spent his life farming, raising cattle and was self-employed as a carpenter. Marion and Mary retired to Needville, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, taking care of the yard, and building many bird houses in his retirement years. Marion is preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Catherine Eder; sister, Helen Eder; brothers, Stanley, August, Victor, John, and Ed Eder. He is survived by his wife Mary of 62 years; daughters, Linda and husband, Gary Kaluza, of Fairchilds, Texas, and Susan and Carmelo Sanchez of Richmond, Texas; son, Larry Eder and wife, Elizabeth, of Industry, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Lidge Eder of Wallis. He will be missed by his family and friends. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, Texas, with Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen and Rev. Joseph Phan, co-celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, with a rosary at 6 p.m. Interment will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Kettler, David Kaluza, Wes Kucera, Zach Eder, Patrick Wray, and Jeremy Eder. Honorary pallbearers will be Merle Hayes, Kris Cabral, and Charlie Parades. Knesek & Sons Funeral Home in Wallis in charge of arrangements.
