Sarah Frances Ford Spohn, age 62, of Alachua, passed away on September 18, 2013 in Gainesville, FL. She was born in Sumter, S.C. on September 20, 1950, but spent most of her life in Alachua County Florida. Working for Santa Fe College as an Office Manager in the Counseling Office, she touched many lives through the years. Fran's life was one of kindness and service to others, and she made friends wherever she went. Her sweet smile and happy personality were truly a blessing to all who knew her. Fran was a devoted Christian woman and longtime member of the Alachua Church of Christ. She was proud of her heritage and was a member of the Edward Winslow Colony, Florida Descendants of the Mayflower Society. She is survived by her son, Kennon Keith Johnson (Kelly), Montgomery AL; grandson, Kyle Edward Johnson, Montgomery AL; sister, Suzanne Adams (John), Tallahassee, FL; brother, Doug Waters (Melanie), Ocala FL; father Jack Waters, Gainesville FL; 2 nieces and 2 nephews and 3 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Spohn and her mother Dorothy Waters. Funeral Services were held on September 21, 2013 at the Chapel in the Meadows inside Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central. Burial followed in the Newnansville Cemetery, Alachua, FL. Published in Gainesville Sun from Sept. 20 to Sept. 21, 2013.
