Bio

Dorothy Russon Marlor, 93, passed away on 27 January 2014 at her home in Magna. Dorothy was born 18 September 1920 in Lehi to Ira R. and Martha Myrtle Devey Russon. She moved to Garfield at age two, where she enjoyed a happy childhood with many friends. Dorothy moved to Magna at age twelve and graduated from Cyprus High School. She married Donald "S" (Sammy) Marlor on 18 September 1940; they enjoyed fifty-four years together. They both brought the love of music into their home. She loved to play the piano, crochet, and play with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was true to her faith and very active in the LDS Church, where she served in many positions, with her heart always in Primary with the children. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Sammy; daughter, Maralee; her parents; and her sisters, Cleo Andersen, LaRae Woolley, and Beth Erickson. She is survived by her children, Don (Lynn), Carol Williams, Paul, and Michelle (Bruce) Ortega; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers-in-law, Owen Erickson and Gordon (Elaine) Marlor; and sister-in-law, Estelle Marlor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the Pleasant Green Ward Chapel, 8739 West 3000 South. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, and Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church.
