Bio

LOREAN LUCILE NIELSEN, 92, of Fulda, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Fulda. Born July 14, 1912, on a farm in Rosehill Township, Cottonwood County, she was the daughter of Fred and Katie Wildfeuer Lidtke. She married Arnold Horn on Sept. 28, 1930, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulda. He died April 16, 1976. She married Kenneth Sumption on March 4, 1980, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulda. He died Nov. 4, 1982. She married Carl Nielsen on Jan. 7, 1984, in Windom. He died Jan. 6, 1999. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school and St. Paul’s School. In 1916, she moved to Gray, Okla., and returned in 1920 to the family farm. After her first marriage, they farmed in Rosehill Township from 1930 to 1942, in Bondin Township from 1942 to 1946, in Canistota, S.D., from 1946 to 1947, and back in Bondin Township from 1947 to 1961. They retired from farming and moved to Fulda. After her second marriage, they made their home in Fremont, Neb. In 1981, they moved to Fulda and resided in her home. After her third marriage, they made their home in Fulda. In 1997, she moved to Maple View Apartments, Fulda. On Nov. 4, 2004, she became a resident of Prairie View Health Care Center, Tracy. She later transferred to Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Fulda. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulda. She was a volunteer driver and member of the Pink Ladies. Surviving are one son, Lane (Linda) Horn, Tracy; one daughter, Vernis (Roger) Gustin, Fulda; nine stepchildren; four grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Totzke Funeral Home, Fulda, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulda. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulda, with the Rev. Dwayne Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Hill Cemetery, Fulda.
