Bio
Rosalie Theresa Bordovsky, 84, of Axtell, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Monday, January 27, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk, Texas. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery. Rosary will begin at 2 p.m., and visitation will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, January 26, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, Waco. Rosalie was born in Elk, Texas, to the late Fred and Mary Pechacek. She was a lifelong homemaker and caretaker of her family. Rosalie was a wonderful cook, preparing many meals and feeding lots of families from the garden that she and Billy planted each year. Her kolaches will be missed. Her sisters and their families were a major part of her life. Rosalie loved to quilt, and created many beautiful heirlooms. She enjoyed games and puzzles; very few weekends went by at the Bordovsky home without a game of 42 being played. Rosalie bestowed hospitality and warmth to everyone that entered her home. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk her entire life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Eugene Bordovsky; a daughter, Betty Swaner; a grandson, Kevin Kasik; and sisters: Helen Hull, Hattie Schneckner, and Josie Bordovsky. Survivors include her daughters, Joan Kasik and her husband, John, of Bellmead, and Lisa McLeskey and her husband, Rusty, of Burnet; sons: Charles Bordovsky and his wife, Christine, of Axtell, Jim Bordovsky and his wife, Dale, of Plainview, Harold Bordovsky, of Spring, and Wendel Bordovsky and his wife, Khaki, of Elk; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Coleman and her husband, Leonard, of Elk; other relatives and many friends.
